GAMA Executive committee hereby invites the nominations for the Executive Committee 2009. Please find below the details. Also the nomination form is attached.
 
The Annual Election to the GAMA (Greater Atlanta Malayalee Association) Executive Committee for the year 2009 will be conducted on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at Berkmar High School.  If voting is required, it will be done by secret ballot between 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. The result will be announced on the same day after the intermission of Xmas Celebration program.  We will elect 13 (Thirteen) members of the Executive Committee. The election committee will announce all eligible executive members including the eligible names for the presidency.  The Executive members will then meet and elect the president from the eligible candidates in their first executive meeting.

1. Nomination of candidates must be submitted in writing, in the prescribed form given below.
2. Eligibility for the Candidate. :An 'eligible Candidate' is defined as a member who has renewed/obtained his/her membership after paying full dues on or before September 30, 2008. 
President: The candidate must have five years GAMA membership to be eligible to become President (five consecutive years is not required).
The candidates who served consecutively in 2007 & 2008 in GAMA executive committee are not eligible to run for office this year.
3. Each candidate must be nominated or seconded by one eligible member of GAMA 
4. Self-nomination and multiple nominations (candidate may nominate others) will be accepted.
5. Nomination form must be signed by the candidate and by the nominating/seconding member before submitting.
6. Completed, prescribed nomination form, must be received at GAMA, P B No: 490391, Lawrenceville – 30049 not later than Friday, November 21, 2008
7. Last Date for withdrawal of nominations will be Friday, November 28, 2008
8. Voting, if needed will be done on Saturday, Dec 13, 2008.
9. Nominations by E-Mail will NOT be accepted.
10. Only ONE vote will be permitted per membership, irrespective of the type of membership.
11. Proxy is not allowed in voting.

GAMA Executive Committee expresses its sincere thanks to all the GAMA Members for making the 2008 Onam Celebration, held on Saturday, Sept 6, at Berkmar HighSchool, a grand success. It was the overwhelming participation of the members and the variety of cultural programs presented by GAMA members and local talents that made the event really memorable.

We hope every one of you would have enjoyed the traditional Kerala Style "Ona Sadya" and the entertainment programs.

GAMA takes this moment to specially thank our members who volunteered to help on arranging the Pookkalam, serving the Onam Sadya, arranging the Onam Special programs and helping with the backstage preparations.

We look forward for the continued support from all of you for GAMA's upcoming events. We are really confident that with this kind of support and involvement we can take GAMA to new heights in the future.

Please note that if you need to be eligible for contesting / voting in the elections for the 2009 committee, which will be held in December, along with the Christmas Celebration, you need to renew your membership on or before Sept 30th 2008.

If you have paid your membership fee for this year, WE THANK YOU for your support. If you have NOT paid it yet, please do not put it off any longer. We need your support to properly organize these events and present quality programs. GAMA events such as the Onam and Christmas Celebrations are free for members.
