About GAMA

GAMA was formed in 1981 when Mr. George Koovakkada took the initiative to contact a dozen or so Malayalee families in the Atlanta area and organized a meeting. From the first meeting in 1981, GAMA has grown to a large organization.


After the structure was formed, during the 1981 Christmas function, Dr. K. C Ninan was nominated as the first president of GAMA. Under the capable leadership of People like Dr. K.C. Ninan, Mr. Anthony (Babu) Thaliath, Mr. K. C. George, Mr. Sethu Palattu, Mr. George Mathew, Mr.Roy Varghese,Mr.Saju Samuel, Mr. Shaji Fernandez, Mr. Araham Augusthy, Mrs. Sheela Johnson, Mr. George Koovakada, Mr. Sabastian (Sunny) Thaliath, Mr. Reji Cherian, Mr. Shaji Elakatt, Mr. Jewel Jose, Mr. Thomas Chacko and Mr.Biju Thuruthumalil GAMA gained strength and momentum. Over the years, GAMA grew continuously through the contributions of time and talent from individuals who served as office bearers and committee members. GAMA thank all our team members who helped the organization grow to such a great level.


We welcome all Malayalee families who are present in Atlanta area to make GAMA a better organization. Main purpose of GAMA is to promote and spread the cultural, social and religious heritage of Kerala among our younger generation. We have a common goal to create a united Malayalee community.
